Your questions answered

Everything you might want to know about hosting your event at our Cotswold barn venue -
from decoration and dogs to drones and drinks

Can I decorate how I wish?

Yes absolutely, make Jenners Barn your own, it’s a blank canvas for you to fill with your own inspiration, just don’t use anything permanent or damaging. We also don’t allow fireworks, Chinese Lanterns or Balloons as these can blow away into other fields & cause problems for the cattle.

Can I use a drone?

Sadly we are neighbours to RAF Fairford and they aren’t keen.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes we love dogs.

Is the china and cutlery included in the hire?

No but we do include all glassware for the whole day.

Do you take cash and cards at the bar?

Yes, both are welcome.

Do you have draught beer?

Yes, we have a range of beers and ciders plus Guinness.

Do you charge corkage?

No

Can I bring my own alcohol?

No you may not, with the exception of ire bottles of spirits for wedding favours.

Do you have overflow car parking?

Yes, we have another field we can use unless it is really wet.

Can I have more guests in the evening?

Yes we can seat 120 in the marquee and you can invite a further 10 more guests in the evening. If you’d like to go higher, we would need to discuss how this is achievable.

Can we use the kitchen?

No the kitchen is for professionals only. There is an additional £250 kitchen use charge if your caterers are using it.

Do you provide a Master of Ceremony or some sort of co-ordinator?

No you would need to appoint someone like a Groomsmen to help run the day but in the run up to the wedding, you will have constant access to Deborah, who will help with all your planning and questions.

Can we bring in outside contractors like a bouncy castle or mini golf?

Yes but they will need £2,000,000 Public Liability Insurance.

Can you mow the field for us?

Sadly not, the field is cut for hay in May/June, depending on the weather and perhaps again in August. We will keep a lawn area tidy, so you’ll have lots of space for guests and games.

Do you allow confetti?

Yes, biodegradable please.

Can guests leave their cars overnight?

Yes, but please collect by 11am the following day.

Do we tidy up?

Yes please - on the day after your event, please collect all your property, including anything that has blown about the field.

Do you provide linens?

No you will need to source this, some couples have had success on Vinted.

What time does the License end?

Carriages at midnight.

Can you give me some example timings for the day?

Obviously this is totally flexible, but a wedding day typically runs to these timings:

  • 1.30/45pm - Groom & guests arrive at Jenners Barn
  • 2.30pm - Bride arrives for the wedding ceremony
  • 3.00pm - Drinks reception
  • 4.30pm - Seating & speeches
  • 5.00pm - Wedding breakfast
  • 7.00pm - Evening guests arrive
  • 8.00pm - Cut the cake & first dance
  • 9.15pm - Late night snacks
